On March 27, 42 UAV application technology students of grade 2019 from CIIT's Intelligent Control School went to a field , one of the experimental bases of Bayer Crop Science (China) Co., Ltd., for on-site practical training of plant protection, which is one of the tasks of UAV industry application training course.
Spring has come and the flowers are in bloom. In the farmland, the students learned about the basic knowledge of common crop damage from insect pests, pesticides, and weed killers, got to know the standard process of plant protection and the maintenance of plant protection UAV, and practiced in group authentic manual operation and full autonomous operation using Dajiang UAV and Jifei UAV in wheat field and Cherry Orchard.
Such kind of teaching method can improve the students' interest in learning and enhance the quality of teaching. The college will continue to closely adapt to local economy, pay attention to the cultivation of students' practical ability, and take application skills as the core to train talents.
Plant protection UAV is of great significance for the realization of targeted poverty alleviation and the development of efficient and safe modern ecological agriculture. The average operating area of UAV for plant protection in the world is 17%, which is more than 50% in developed countries, but only 2.6% in China. With the increase of UAV stock in China, there will be a great demand for skilled and experienced UAV pilots and maintenance technicians in the next few years.
