On July 8, the final of the second "Jianjun Cup" Chinese Speech Contest and the Closing Ceremony of the First International Cultural Festival were held in the Teaching Building. Yao Qingwen, vice president; Fei Jianming, Dean of the School of Overseas Education; Wang Xin, Deputy Director of the Teaching Affairs Office, and other relevant leaders attended the event.
Yao Qingwen pointed out in his speech that the competition provides a good stage for students to practice themselves and show themselves. He hopes that students can communicate with each other through the competition, better improve their Chinese level, understand Chinese culture, and grow up to be ambassadors of cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.
The final theme of the Second "Jianjun Cup" Chinese Speech Contest is divided into "China in My Eyes", "My Chinese Learning Experience" and "ME and My Country". During the final, 12 contestants delivered speeches on topics such as the development of contemporary China society, experience of studying abroad in China, life experience, and their own country. Chinese teacher Tu Yanqun commented on the performance of the contestants one by one. After fierce competition, Jones and Luo Yuze won the first prize, Gao Li, Wu Jing, Wei Siyu won the second prize, and Namu, Bell, Guo Caijun, Liu Yangguang, Li Xin and Robin won the third prize. After online voting, Collier won the Best Voice Award, Jones won the Best Popularity Award, Luo Yuze won the Best Performance Award, and Tate won the Best Demeanor Award.
At the Closing Ceremony of the First International Cultural Festival, the guests presented awards and took group photos for the winners of the First International Cultural Festival. Prior to that, a series of activities were held in the first international cultural festival, including the Chinese Character Writing Competition of "Jianjun Cup", the Cooking Competition of "Eating Whole food and Beauty", the evaluation of "the Most Beautiful Room", the Display of National Characteristics and Personal Style. Finally, 8 people including Cheng Xueqing (Myanmar) won the prize in the Chinese Character Writing Competition of "Jianjun Cup"; eight teams including Yilong and Tani, including Tajikistan team, won the prize in the "Eating Whole Food Beauty" Competition; 13 international students won the prize in the "Most Beautiful Room" Competition; 12 people including Luo Yuze (Myanmar) won the prize in the Exhibition of National Characteristics; and 13 people including Mia (Bangladesh) won the prize in "Personal Style Exhibition".
In the future, the school will hold a series of social practice activities to create an inclusive and pluralistic international atmosphere, promote students' understanding of Chinese civilization and world civilization, improve their comprehensive quality, enhance their comprehensive language proficiency, broaden their international vision and improve their intercultural communication ability.
