On the afternoon of July 1, the weather was beautiful, and it was sunny after the rain. At about 13:25, the Multimedia Bilingual Broadcasting in Classroom 1411 of the Teaching Building opened the finals of the 2020 "Jianjun Cup" Chinese Character Writing Contest of Changzhou Institute of Industry Technology. Ma Lijuan, Vice President and Miao Shuangming, Vice President of the School of Overseas Education, inspected the venue.

Chinese characters are the cultural treasures of the Chinese nation and the precious wealth of human civilization. The idea of the contest is deeply inspired by the scheme of the Second Chinese Classics Recitation, Writing and Speaking contest, which is being held by the Ministry of Education. In 40 minutes, 11 contestants have to complete six items, namely, writing Chinese characters according to Pinyin, writing idioms according to explanations, writing Tang poems by heart, stroke order test, calligraphy knowledge test and regular script works display.

The invigilators were deeply impressed by their writing skills, their mastery of commonly used Chinese characters and Chinese traditional culture, the tutor's guidance before the examination, and especially the open-ended question answering ideas. The 40 minute competition time is really like a flash in the air. Who will win the championship in this year's Chinese Writing Contest will wait for the judge led by Mr. Sun Aimin of the School of Overseas Education with the title of Jiangsu calligrapher.
